Knight-Hennessy Scholars 2027
Applications are open for the 2027 cohort of Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University.
The programme is open to applicants from all countries, with no quotas by nationality, academic discipline or region. Scholars may pursue eligible full-time graduate programmes across Stanford, including Master’s, PhD, MBA, JD and MD programmes.
The KHS application closes on 6 October 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Who can apply?
For the 2027 cohort, applicants must normally have earned their first bachelor’s degree in January 2020 or later. Current students who will complete their degree by September 2027 can also qualify. Applicants with qualifying military service receive an additional two-year eligibility window.
What does KHS cover?
Knight-Hennessy Scholars provides up to three years of support including:
- tuition and associated fees;
- a stipend for living and academic expenses;
- an annual economy travel stipend; and
- a one-time relocation stipend for newly enrolled scholars.
Two applications are required
Applicants must apply separately to:
- Knight-Hennessy Scholars, and
- their chosen Stanford graduate programme.
The Stanford programme application must be submitted by the earlier of the programme's KHS-specific deadline or 1 December 2026.

There is no KHS application fee, although the separate Stanford graduate programme may charge an application fee.
