<p>The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the <strong>2026 WASSCE results for School Candidates</strong>, with <strong>61.54% of candidates obtaining credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics</strong>.</p><p>A total of <strong>1,950,726 candidates</strong> sat for the examination, while <strong>1,200,514 candidates</strong> obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. The affected branches are expected to engage their governments and university authorities before deciding on further industrial action.</p> <p data-end="3236" data-start="3027">Some branches are already moving individually. For example, the Taraba State University branch formally issued its own ultimatum on 13 August, to expire on 26 August 2026.</p>
