Adelaide University Scholarships for International Students
The former University of South Australia (UniSA) and the University of Adelaide have combined to form Adelaide University, which officially commenced operations in January 2026.
International students applying for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programmes can now access several scholarships offering tuition-fee reductions of up to 50%.
Available scholarships
Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship – 50%
This competitive scholarship offers a 50% reduction in tuition fees to high-achieving international students beginning an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme.
Applicants generally need an outstanding academic record, such as a high-distinction equivalent. Unlike most of the University's other international scholarships, a separate scholarship application is required.
The Semester 2, 2026 application round closed on 22 May 2026, so applicants should check the official page for the next application round.
Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship
Adelaide Emerging Leaders Award – 25%
International students with strong academic results may receive a 25% tuition-fee reduction.
There is no separate scholarship application. Eligible applicants are automatically assessed when they apply for admission to Adelaide University.
Adelaide Emerging Leaders Award
Adelaide Merit Scholarship – 15%
The Adelaide Merit Scholarship provides a 15% reduction in tuition fees for eligible international undergraduate and postgraduate students with a good academic record.
Students are automatically assessed as part of their application for admission.
Adelaide Merit Scholarship
Adelaide Global Alumni Scholarship – 10%
International students who previously studied at:

Adelaide University;
-
the University of South Australia; or
-
the University of Adelaide
may qualify for a 10% tuition-fee reduction when beginning another eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
No separate scholarship application is required.

Adelaide Partner Award – 10%
Students coming from an approved Adelaide University partner institution may qualify for a 10% tuition-fee reduction.
Eligible students are automatically considered when applying for admission.

Who can apply?
Most of these scholarships are intended for international students commencing an eligible Bachelor's or postgraduate coursework degree at Adelaide University.
Eligibility varies according to academic performance, previous institution and chosen programme. Some health, medical and other professional degrees are excluded from particular scholarships, so applicants should check the conditions of the specific award.
How to apply
International students should first choose an eligible Adelaide University degree and apply for admission.
For the 25%, 15% and several 10% awards, no separate scholarship application is normally required. Applicants are automatically assessed and successful awards appear with the offer of admission.
