Slovakia Scholarships for Talented International Students 2026/2027: Up to €15,000

The Slovak Republic is accepting applications for its Scholarship for Talented Students from All Over the World for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The programme supports international students admitted to selected full-time Bachelor’s, combined Bachelor’s and Master’s, or Master’s programmes at public and state universities in Slovakia. Doctoral programmes are not covered.

Application deadline: 8 September 2026 at 23:59 CEST

The deadline was extended from the date previously stated in the programme guide.

Scholarship value

Successful students receive:

• €500 per month;
• payment for ten months of each academic year;
• up to €15,000 over three years for Bachelor’s or combined programmes; or
• up to €10,000 over two years for Master’s programmes.

Up to 170 Bachelor’s-level and 55 Master’s-level scholarships may be awarded.

Eligibility

Applicants must generally:

• be international students applying to an eligible Slovak university;
• pursue a selected full-time programme connected to Slovakia’s smart-specialisation priorities;
• meet the residence and previous-study requirements;
• submit an SAT score of at least 1100 or an average SCIO percentile of at least 63; and
• enrol at the selected university for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The SAT or SCIO result is the principal ranking criterion. Other examinations cannot replace these tests.

Required documents

Applicants may need:

• certified passport or identity document;
• declaration of permanent residence;
• SAT or SCIO result;
• curriculum vitae;
• motivation letter; and
• university admission letter, where already available.

How to apply

The scholarship application and university admission are separate. Receiving the scholarship does not automatically mean that an applicant has been admitted to a Slovak university.

Important: Tuition fees may be waived for recipients studying in a foreign-language programme, but the final decision rests with the university. The award should therefore not be described as fully funded.
