Türkiye Scholarships is a government-funded programme offering international students opportunities to study at associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels in Turkish universities.
The 2027 application call has not yet been announced. However, the general application period normally runs annually from:
10 January to 20 February
The 2026 application cycle followed these dates. Applicants should use this article as a preparation guide and confirm the final 2027 requirements when the new call is published.
Scholarship benefits
The current full-time scholarship package includes:
- university and department placement;
- full tuition fees;
- accommodation;
- health insurance;
- one year of Turkish-language training;
- a once-off flight ticket at the beginning and end of study; and
- monthly stipends of 4,500 TL for undergraduate, 6,500 TL for Master’s and 9,000 TL for PhD students.
These amounts should be checked again when the 2027 call is released.
Basic eligibility
Current general requirements include:
- citizens of all countries may apply;
- applicants must be graduates or expected to graduate before August;
- minimum academic achievement of 70% for associate and Bachelor’s applicants;
- 75% for graduate applicants;
- 90% for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy applicants;
- applicants must be under 21 for associate or Bachelor’s programmes;
- under 30 for Master’s programmes; and
- under 35 for PhD programmes.
Turkish citizens and applicants already studying in Türkiye at the same level for which they are applying are generally ineligible.
Documents to prepare
Applicants may need:
- passport or national identity document;
- recent photograph;
- diploma or temporary graduation certificate;
- academic transcript;
- national examination results;
- required international test or language results; and
- a research proposal and previous research sample for PhD applications.
