Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) 2027
Applications are available for the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) for international students interested in pursuing PhD research in Singapore.
SINGA is offered through Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in collaboration with leading Singapore universities, including Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University and Singapore University of Technology and Design.
Application deadline: 1 December 2026 for the August 2027 intake. The regular SINGA cycle uses 1 June for the following January intake and 1 December for the following August intake.
Scholarship benefits
SINGA provides funding for up to four years of PhD study, including:
- full tuition fees;
- monthly stipend;
- one-time airfare grant; and
- one-time settling-in allowance.
PhD training is conducted in English under researchers at A*STAR and participating universities.
Who can apply?
The award is mainly intended for international students who:
- have excellent academic results;
- have a strong interest in research;
- are applying to study in Singapore for the first time;
- have good written and spoken English; and
- can provide strong academic references.
Applicants may pursue research in areas such as:
- Biomedical Sciences;
- Computing and Information Sciences;
- Engineering and Technology; and
- Physical Sciences.
Documents
Applicants should prepare:
- a valid passport;
- recent passport photograph;
- academic transcripts and reports; and
- information for their academic referees.
Documents not originally in English should be accompanied by appropriate English translations.
