In what would be a relieve to many, TOEFL has announced on its website that testing would resume in Nigeria at some selected centres in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt. The first testing at these centres would be on 25th of January but registrations would be open to candidates on the 13th.
TOEFL is an English-language test often taken as a test of proficiency and use of English mostly in countries where English language is used as a second language or not spoken. For many institutions, TOEFL score is used to satisfy admission and visa requirements, which is why this decision would be a relief to Nigerians seeking scholarship or admission into universities abroad such as in UK, Australia and USA.
